The West Coast Eagles have advised South Australian defender Lauren Gauci and forward Ashlee Atkins they will not be offered contracts for the upcoming AFLW season.
Atkins was signed ahead of West Coast's inaugural AFLW season, while Gauci joined the club prior to the 2021 campaign.
Both players joined the Eagles during an extended stay in the Melbourne hub, and senior coach Michael Prior thanked them for their service to the club.
"Myself and the club as a whole would like to thank both Lauren Gauci and Ashlee Atkins for the contributions they have made to the club both on and off field," Prior said.
"Both players have been valued members of West Coast over the course of our journey and we recognise and appreciate the commitments they have made to be a part of a professional AFLW team.
"Unfortunately, due to the nature of the competition our list requires consistent changes ahead of every upcoming season, which also creates difficult decisions.
"On behalf of the West Coast playing group, members, supporters and staff we wish the players the best of luck in their future endeavours and hope they remain connected to the club in years to come."
