The 2012 season will include six productions in the Heath Ledger Theatre, including four world premieres by Australian playwrights, an American thriller and a love story for the ages:

- Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia, called “the greatest love story on the British stage”, is a witty play of ideas for anyone who loves science, maths or gardening. 17 March - 1 April
- Playwright and director Aidan Fennessy has a personal connection to the Balibo Five murders of 1975 and his play National Interest goes beyond the headlines with a story of a family still in the grip of grief. 5 May - 20 May
- The world premiere of Tim Winton’s second play, Signs of Life, about hope in unexpected places, starring Helen Morse and Ernie Dingo. 21 July - 12 August
- The stalker-thriller Boy Gets Girl by American playwright Rebecca Gilman will get under your skin, asking questions about love, trust and identity. 15 September - 30 September
- The world premiere of David Williamson’s play Managing Carmen combines football and designer dresses in a crackling funny dissection of stereotypes in sport. 10 November - 2 December
