Football is back in Perth on Sunday, February 13, with the West Coast Eagles playing at Mineral Resources Park for the first time this year.
After an extended stint on the road in a Melbourne hub – facing Adelaide, Geelong and St Kilda – West Coast will take on Collingwood in a quarantine match Sunday afternoon at 12.10pm (AWST).
This will see the Victorian teams fly-in and fly-out of Western Australia on a charter flight.
Both clubs and officials involved in the game will abide by strict travel arrangements and all other protocols approved by the Western Australian Government and relevant health officials.
The club are looking forward to welcoming back fans to Mineral Resources Park as the team looks to secure four premiership points in their sixth match of the season.
The Eagles have not played against Collingwood since their first-ever match in round one, 2020, where they fell by 27 points.
Vice-captain Dana Hooker and skipper Emma Swanson were among the best on ground in the match, both finishing the game with 18 disposals and four tackles.
“We are appreciative of the collaboration between the WA Government, WAPOL, AFL and Collingwood to enable a game in Western Australia to take place,” General Manager of Community and Game Development, Richard O'Connell said.
“To be able to run out in front of our fans, families and partners means a lot to everyone at the club.
“The time that we have spent in Victoria together has further galvanised the playing group and accelerated their development for future campaigns.
“Being able to return to Perth for our players and staff who carefully balance work and football is really important for their careers and overall well-being.”
