Tenacious captain Emma Swanson did all she could in a hard-hitting contest against Fremantle on Saturday, to the point she was the most influential Eagle afield.
Swanson worked consistently hard across the Eagles’ engine room and was the standout with 23 disposals, four inside 50s and 490 metres gained, as well as booting West Coast’s first major of the match.
Despite West Coast eventually falling to Fremantle by three goals, Swanson impressed with aggressive stoppage work to notch a further six clearances and five tackles to her name.
The smooth-moving onballer combined with Mikayla Bowen (13 disposals, five tackles), Aisling McCarthy (10, four) and Kellie Gibson (eight, five) to provide a tireless effort in the West Coast midfield across the match.
