Tackling machine Jamaine Jones mounted an encouraging campaign in his second season at West Coast, maintaining a senior position for a majority of the season after impressing in round two against the Bulldogs.
It was a contrast from playing just two matches for West Coast in 2020, with Jones’ precision in front of goal and pressure around the contest proving invaluable to the Eagles’ forward line throughout the season.
Despite succumbing to an ankle injury late in the year, Jones finished the season with an elite level of precision across all fronts – including disposal efficiency (81.2%), kicking efficiency (75%) and goal accuracy (73.3%) – placing him in the top percentile of the league across all three facets.
Best season performance: Derby domination
Jones came out to play at the 52nd RAC Derby, eclipsing his career-high disposal count with 21, alongside three marks, three tackles and two goals.
The 23-year-old also strung together a career-best game across his four seasons in the AFL system, contributing to the Eagles’ 11thconsecutive win against Fremantle with a further five intercepts, five inside 50s and 10 ground ball gets.
