West Coast’s blue and gold army has grown to 80,294 members, an all-time record for the club.
The AFL confirmed today that the Eagles boasted the third biggest membership figures in the league behind only reigning premiers Richmond (100,726) and Hawthorn (80,302).
The club eclipsed its 2017 record mark (65,064) by more than 15,000 members this year, which is a testament to the loyalty and dedication of its much-loved fan base.
West Coast is hoping to celebrate this extraordinary achievement by attracting a record crowd to Sunday’s derby at Optus Stadium.
The Eagles set the venue’s current record of 57,616 during our round 9 top-of-the-table clash with Richmond, but we’re optimistic of bettering that number this weekend.
If you’re looking for some extra motivation to get to our first home derby, here are two significant reasons:
- Help us set a new Western Derby attendance record – we can’t let Fremantle have it!
- It’s our annual Dig Deep round, which raises money for our valued charitable partner Cancer Council WA!
At this stage the match is sold out, but we need bums on seats to set a new record, so make sure you’re at the game and cheering the boys to victory!
