Emerging star Oscar Allen’s best season of his promising career so far has been recognised with selection in the AFL Players’ Association’s 22Under22 team.
After a year spent switching between roles in attack, defence and pinch-hitting in the ruck, Allen earned a spot in the side for the first time.
The young Eagle took another step forward this season, booting a career-best 28 goals from 21 games despite regularly shifting positions.
Allen averaged 10 disposals, 4.7 marks and almost two tackles per match.
He also kicked a career-best bag of five majors against Collingwood in round five.
With 59 games under his belt, the exciting tall is developing nicely as a leader of the Eagles' next generation, and shapes as the eventual replacement for West Coast’s all-time leading goalkicker, Josh Kennedy, spearheading the attack in years to come.
