Tarir Bayok made a rapid rise through the ranks after moving to Australia in 2007. After showing initial interest in soccer and basketball, he started playing local football in 2010. The Sudanese teenager joined the Naitanui Academy in 2014 where he was able to rapidly improve his knowledge and development of the game, giving him an easier transition into WAFL Colts system, before earning the right to represent Western Australia in the National Championships in 2016. The speedy Bayok turned heads at the WA Draft Combine in 2016 by clocking the fastest 20m sprint (2.79 seconds), also impressing with his skilful disposal. The Eagles were able to add Bayok to their list as a Category B Rookie under the AFL’s Next Generation Academy guidelines.

Bayok made one appearance in West Coast colours in the JLT pre-season Series in 2018. Later that year, he was elevated to the senior list on the back of some good form playing at East Perth, and travelled to Sydney with the team as an emergency in round 13.

Bayok spent 2 seasons on the clubs Rookie list (2017 & 2018), before being de-listed at the end of 2018. In his time at the club, Bayok represented East Perth playing 9 league games – 4 goals, and 23 reserves games – 11 goals.
