Despite best-laid plans for Williams to shift to a forward-ruck role following Matt Flynn’s acquisition it wasn’t long before the high-leaping tall was back shouldering the load in the middle after the Eagles recruit was struck down by a long-term injury. Williams handled the task admirably again, playing all 23 games, including some alongside Flynn and has established himself as an important member of the playing group. Further opportunities in attack could present in 2025 for the Dandenong product following the departure of veteran Jack Darling to North Melbourne.
