Norm Smith medallist Luke Shuey's performance in West Coast's magnificent premiership win was the best game by anyone in a final this decade.
That's the verdict of the Schick AFL Player Ratings, which Champion Data has formulated since 2010 by considering a variety of statistics to determine how effective all 44 on the ground were.
Shuey scored 35.7 in the decider. To put that into context, the previous high was in last year's Grand Final, when Richmond superstar Dustin Martin notched 30.9 points on his way to being considered best afield.
The 28-year-old finished with 34 disposals, 19 contested possessions, nine clearances, eight tackles, eight inside-50s, two goal assists and a goal.
Shuey was on from the opening bounce, even while his teammates faltered, as the Pies kicked the opening five goals of the match.
He won a free within the first 20 seconds for his tackle on Tom Phillips and nailed spearhead Josh Kennedy with a great kick into space.
The burst midfielder's brilliant snap late in the second term brought West Coast back within 12 points.
Perhaps his most important moment though came with a minute left as Brayden Maynard booted the football from a kick-in, with the Pies down by five points.
Shuey read the ball better than anyone else and took a vital mark that just about ended Collingwood's hopes.
