Key forward Josh Kennedy is hopeful Jeremy McGovern will be fit to face Fremantle this Sunday after a hamstring scare against the Hawks.
McGovern was returning from a hamstring injury sustained in round 16 against Collingwood but left the field late in the game on Saturday night with tightness in the same area.
Adam Simpson was hopeful it was ‘just a bad cramp’ but feared there may have been a reoccurrence of the injury, but Kennedy says McGovern had pulled up fairly well.
“I think he’s pulled up alright, he didn’t feel it ‘go’ or anything like that,” Kennedy told The Sunday Footy Show.
“He just felt it get a bit tight so he came off.
“They made an assessment not to bring him back on to risk doing further damage.
“He seemed to be alright today, so he’ll get through the week, the fitness staff will manage him and hopefully he can get up as he’s a key player for us.”
